Legato Fractional RF Skin Resurfacing stimulates collagen production and allows for effective delivery of cosmeceutical products into the skin, leading to regeneration and rejuvenation. The Legato is the result of many years of research and development, as well as extensive collaboration with dermatologists, scientists and hospitals across the globe. It is a dual stage system that utilises the revolutionary iPixelRF and IMPACT Ultrasound acoustic vibrations to rejuvenate skin.
Alma Lasers have again won a ‘Gold’ award for their equipment at the recent industry Aesthetic Awards. The Legato is a very exciting addition to our array of non-invasive anti-ageing treatments and we are able to offer an even more effective, bespoke programme tailored to address your individual needs.
What is Legato used for?
Legato Fractional Skin Resurfacing is used to rejuvenate the skin and can help improve the appearance of lines, wrinkles, acne scarring, pigmentation, melasma, stretch marks and other scars.
How does it work?
There are tiny Nitrogen Ions present in the air around us. When the iPixelRF is rolled over the skin, the nitrogen ions get trapped beneath the roller and react with the RF, causing a very tiny spark. This spark is what ablates the skin and causes a microscopic channel in the tissue which reaches the depth of the dermis.
We then use IMPACT Ultrasound Acoustic vibrations to penetrate active ingredients into the skin which mimics a ‘push/pull’ effect, similar to that of a bath plunger, to push the product deeper into the dermis. This means that products can be delivered effectively right where they are needed and so can provide a stronger therapeutic effect. Legato Fractional RF facilitates this.
What is involved during the treatment?
Your Aesthetic Therapist will first perform an in-depth consultation and your medical history will be taken, to ensure that there are no reasons why you shouldn’t have the treatment, and you will be asked to sign a consent form at this time which means that you have understood the potential benefits and risks associated. Your Aesthetic Therapist will then take a Visia Skin Analysis of your skin to enable us to create a bespoke programme for you and to answer any questions you may have prior to starting treatment.
The procedure will start with a cleanse of the skin, your aesthetician will then use a small hand held roller with fine needles to gently roll over the skin, this will create a tiny spark which is what ablates the skin. After this a hand held ultrasound probe is gently applied to the skin in circular motions, which helps to penetrate active ingredients into the skin. We will then apply your soothing cream and SPF.
Does it hurt?
Depending on your sensitivity, the Legato can be uncomfortable so we can use a local anaesthetic cream to numb the area.
What is the skin appearance after the treatment?
Your skin will be red straight after the treatment. The skin can stay slightly pink for a maximum of a couple of days, but most of the time this should fade within 24 hours or so.
What special precautions do you need to take after treatment?
Your aesthetician will give you a full aftercare advice sheet and go through it with you. Going in the sun is contra-indicated, as is using a steam/sauna.
When will I see results?
You are likely to feel and see an immediate effect which will increase over the next weeks. Since the Legato is stimulating collagen, it will take a few weeks to see the full effect of regeneration.
How many treatments will I need?
We recommend a course of 6 treatments spaced 3 weeks apart.
Single treatments start from £100.00
Course of treatments start from £500.00
