How does laser hair removal work?

The Soprano ICE uses Laser technology at an 810nm wavelength with an advanced IN-MOTION™ method for virtually pain free hair removal. This advanced technology can reduce hair growth by gently raising the temperature within the hair follicle (the melanin in the hair follicle attracts the laser energy) which causes damage to the follicle’s germ cells but without damaging the skin surface or surrounding tissue.

The sweeping IN-MOTION™ technique ensures that the laser is in constant motion, ensuring full coverage and a speedy treatment.

In addition, a patented DualChill mechanism for cooling ensures that the surface of your skin stays cool and comfortable throughout your treatment. This is an excellent advantage of this system, resulting in a smooth treatment.

Although you’ll see a noticeable, permanent reduction in the number of hairs after your first treatment, we typically recommend 6-8 treatments to permanently reduce the number of re-growing hairs by more than 80%. The best package of treatments for you can be discussed at your consultation.

What is involved during the Soprano ICE treatment?

Your Aesthetic Therapist will first perform an in-depth consultation and your medical history will be taken, to ensure that there are no reasons why you shouldn’t have the treatment, and you will be asked to sign a consent form at this time which means that you have understood the potential benefits and risks associated.

Your Aesthetic Therapist will then perform a patch test on the area that you would like to treat so you can feel the sensation of the treatment and so we can make sure there is no adverse reaction. Your first treatment will then be booked in the diary for a convenient time to suit you. (You only have to wait 48 hours after the patch test of Soprano ICE to go ahead with treatment.)

The procedure will start with a cleanse of the area to remove any impurities on the surface and your therapist will then apply a cool gel over the area to be treated. The Soprano ICE hand piece will then be gently applied to the area working in-motion and in sections. The gel will then be removed and the area cleansed. If the face has been treated we will apply aloe gel and an SPF. For all body areas just aloe gel is applied to soothe and calm the skin.
